The Lotus

About the lotus.

The Indian Lotus flower symbolizes divinity, fertility, wealth, knowledge and enlightenment. It is associated with the goddess of wealth, Maha Lakshmi, who brings prosperity, purity and generosity.

She sits on a fully blossomed lotus flower, symbolizing purity, beauty and everything which is positive.

Dosanj - About Us

The Dosanjh brothers.

Having been at the customer end of most Indian restaurants in Sheffield, Mandip and Manjit wanted to breakaway from the stereotypical image of Indian restaurants- both their decor and the food being served.
This triggered the brothers’ idea for a new way of dining- and so the Dosanj brand was born.

Dosanjh Kalan - Where is all started

Our roots stem back to a small village in Punjab, India with a population of around 2,000. The main industry in the village is agricultural with many people owning small farms on the outskirts of the main village.

The population decreased in the 1960’s as many left the village to seek employment overseas in the UK, Canada, USA and Australia.

Those people have since returned, investing in new and improving existing properties.

Why choose us

Simple…. We aim to be the best.

Our menu has been painstakingly crafted using the finest ingredients to allow you to choose dishes which are famous in India, yet relatively unheard of here in Sheffield.

Our chef comes with a vast amount of experience in preparing bespoke dishes having worked in top restaurants all over the world.

Dishes are prepared fresh to order, but the exceptionally flavour and unique blend of spices will more than compensate for extra time taken to prepare them.

We are an authentic Indian restaurant in every sense.
